Kids WB schedules 2005-2006
They were transformed into babies, now they are futuristic heroes as Kids' WB! leads off its upcoming season with LOONATICS, featuring descendants of legendary Looney Tunes characters upholding justice and hopefully the networks high ratings. The new fall schedule for the 2005-2006 television season featuring three new series and four returning hits, striving to broaden audience appeal with dual-gender programs was announced today (Feb. 16, 2005) by David Janollari, president, entertainment, The WB and Kids WB!, and Betsy McGowen, svp/gm, Kids' WB!, speaking to advertisers and media during the Kids WB! upfront sales presentation in New York City.
Warner Bros. Animation has reimagined descendants of some of the most beloved animated characters in history Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner, Lola Bunny, Tasmanian Devil and Wile E. Coyote as superheroes several hundred years in the future endowed with individual powers and unique abilities. These new Looney characters band together to create a formidable team and face-off against the evils of Acmetropolis.
LOONATICS (working title) along with two new series, JOHNNY TEST and COCONUT FRED'S FRUIT SALAD ISLAND, join returning powerhouse hits YU-GI-OH! with season five and all-new dueling adventures; the next evolution of the top-rated Pokémon franchise with season eight and 52 original episodes; the Emmy-nominated XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN has 13 action-packed episodes of the third season; and the Caped Crusader uncovers new villains and unmasks a new partner-in-crime Batgirl as Kids WB! brings on THE BATMAN.
COCONUT FRED'S FRUIT SALAD ISLAND features a tiny tropical haven for living, breathing bananas, melons, mangos, lemons and other fruit who have made it their home with a wacky, weird and wild coconut named Fred. A ball of endless energy, filled with a big heart and sweet, sloshy milk, Fred is an eternal optimist who pursues his dreams. As Fred contemplates his next big idea, whatever he thinks about actually happens with a little help from the creative show team at WBA.
JOHNNY TEST chronicles the adventures of a fearless 11-year-old boy, his genetically engineered super dog, Dukey and his 13-year-old super genius scientist twin sisters, Susan and Mary, who use Johnny as their guinea pig for their out-of-this-world scientific experiments. Johnny and his souped-up super mutt are obsessed with pushing the limits speed limits, time limits, physical limits, you name it.
COSMIC WANDERERS follows galactic explorer Ellie, her scientist friend Dr. Wyatt, a blue slime rabbit Fluff and his sister Flo (who is pink), and the ridiculed King Galaxia as they explore the galaxy, finding new planets and other stuff
VIEWTIFUL JOE follows Joe, an average guy, who is given superpowers to battle enemies in Movie Land and rescue his girlfriend Silvia.
LAZYTOWN follows Stephanie, our main character, is a new arrival in LazyTown. She quickly befriends the other kids (all puppets), but learns that nobody in LazyTown plays outside or does sports. This is just fine for Robbie Rotten, the town's resident Harmless Villain, who likes nothing more than to spend every day in his lair under LazyTown eating cake, sleeping and generally doing nothing at all.
Enter Sportacus, an incredibly athletic superhero, who encourages all the kids to eat healthily and play outside, disturbing poor Robbie's sleep. So Once an Episode, Robbie comes up with a scheme to make LazyTown lazy again, usually by getting rid of Sportacus or somehow tricking the kids (or sometimes just kidnapping them), which he often does by dressing up in ridiculous outfits. Then Sportacus does a billion backflips and saves them all!
DA BOOM CREW: Four foster kids (Justin, Nate, Jubei and Ricki) create a video game about heroes going up against space alien terrorists. Then a portal appears and pulls them into a dimension which is just like the world in their game. They embark on a quest to find their missing video game cartridges and stop the sadistic extraterrestrial emperor Zorch from taking control of this intergalactic dimension
JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED: A continuation of the Justice League animated series finds the original members of the team joined in their battle against crime and evil by dozens of other heroes from the DC comics universe.
In a very short time, Kids WB! has become the most dominant broadcaster in the kids landscape, not just in Saturday morning primetime, but also as the only dedicated broadcaster Mondays through Fridays, said Janollari. Creating a unique destination powered by a distinct, branded environment that kids embrace in a huge way, our goal is to make the Kids WB! viewers of today our primetime program viewers of tomorrow.
Since fall 2000, Kids' WB! has upheld its dominant post as the #1 broadcast network for kids in all key demographics and is in the midst of capturing its 14th consecutive sweep win this month as the #1 Saturday morning broadcast network. Kids WB schedules 2006-2007
The Kids WB! 2006-2007 programming slate kicks off on Sept. 23, 2006, on The CW Network, the new broadcast network launching this month. It features four new, original shows and the return of four established hit series on the Saturday morning schedule.
The block of programming, targeted at kids 6-11, will introduce a new generation of young viewers to some of the most iconic characters in animation history, via three new series from Warner Bros. Animation: LEGION OF SUPER HEROES, based on the DC Comics characters, featuring Superman in an all-new adventure; SHAGGY & SCOOBY-DOO GET A CLUE! and TOM AND JERRY TALES, according to Betsy McGowen, svp/gm, Kids WB!
Kids WB! also presents the U.S. television premiere of MONSTER ALLERGY, a new half-hour show based upon the international bestselling comicbook series of the same name, produced for by Rainbow S.p.A. in Italy.
Kids WB! series returning to the fall schedule include THE BATMAN with Robin the Boy Wonder joining the Caped Crusader in his crimefighting exploits; LOONATICS UNLEASHED and XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN, all produced by WBA, as well as JOHNNY TEST, produced by Cookie Jar Ent.
KRYPTO THE SUPERDOG chronicles the comedic canine adventures of a Metropolis day-saving super dog from the planet Krypton. Krypto jettisons to Earth after orbiting countless years in space as a test-pilot puppy aboard a malfunctioning rocket ship built by Superman's father. The fully-grown Krypto swiftly seeks out companionship on Earth and finds it with Kevin Whitney, a young boy who also longs for friendship. Endowed with an amazing array of superhero powers, ranging from heat vision to super strength to flying, Krypto partners with Kevin to fight threats to the safety and well being of the people and animals of Metropolis. MONSTER ALLERGY features 12-year-old Zick, who, due to his allergies, discovers he has the exceptional ability to see what no other kids his age can: the invisible supernatural monsters that live among us. The iconic superstars Tom and Jerry star in their first new U.S. television series in more than 13 years, TOM AND JERRY TALES. In this half-hour program from WBA and exec producers Schwartz and toon pioneer Joseph Barbera, Tom and Jerry return to basics, chasing each other in all-new series of hilarious cartoon shorts. With endless rivalry and slapstick gags, this cat-and-mouse comedy team scrambles, slides and creates over-the-top mayhem. Frank Molieri and Tom Minton serve as producers.
Quivering sleuths Shaggy and his lovable Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, are back in a new adventure, SHAGGY & SCOOBY-DOO GET A CLUE! Shaggy inherits a fortune from his Uncle Albert (the brilliant Dr. Albert Shaggleford), moves with Scooby into his newly bequeathed mansion and uncovers the evil Dr. Phineus Phibes plot to steal his uncles invention. Cleverly hidden in the form of Scooby Snacks, the invention in these snacks give Scooby amazing powers that they may use to defeat the devious Dr. Phibes. Tenebrous has escaped into the real world due to the aid of Damian Darkstone, a player who opposes them as the enemy character Devlan13, and the Game Guardian has recruited them to oppose him.
SPIDER RIDERS: Hunter Steele finds himself transported from the comforts of home and into an epic battle being waged in the Inner World of Arachna.

Mid-Season Additions:
The Spectacular Spider-Man: Peter Parker, a high school student, receives extraordinary powers after being bitten by a spider. He must now try to balance his personal life while trying to save the city.
World of Quest: Odyssia is home to young Prince Nestor, Quest and Lord Spite. They all have a common goal: They must find the Shatter Soul Sword that's gone missing. Prince Nestor needs the help of the greatest warrior Quest to defeat Lord Spite and find the sword to keep peace in the kingdom.
Chop Socky Chooks: Chuckie Chan, KO Joe and Chick P make up Chop Socky Chooks. The three friends are Kung Fu Chickens who live in Wasabi World and fight the monstrous Doctor Wasabi, who plans to take over the world. The trio works undercover using martial arts, spy gadgets and quick wits to protect Wasabi World from Doctor Wasabi, Bonsai Shrink Rays and Karaoke Zombies.

User3: I think the new style is going to be reminiscent of the Sneak Peak format. You know…like the promos will be done in online video player style, and the background will be the same style background as the 4Kids site. Which would explain why the new logo is apparently “Sign On…” I’m kind of torn on the look. It’s meant to be ‘cool’ and it succeeds in that respect. The overall concept is pretty clever too, with the CW4Kids being like a computer and with the different buttons performing different functions. However, it does get old really fast, as there’s barely any variety in the new look
User4:As far as the morning goes, I can honestly say I was impressed. The ladies “CW4Kids, sign on” voice became quickly irritating, but the previews where better than I expected. I liked how they incorporated the e/i into the CW4Kids logo instead of having it at a different part of the screen. It didn’t surprise me, but I did find it interesting, that they had the same contest on 4Kids TV and CW4Kids today, which means they probably will all year. The line-up is definitely developing into the best line-up for a Saturday AM that has been available in quite sometime. I also enjoyed that the line-up was almost new episodes. (except for Spider-Man, Will and Dewitt, Magi-Nation, Monster Allergy, Spider Riders and Skunk Fu, which were all reruns)

User1: Hey everyone! I was just wondering, when did CW4Kids start using The Sensibles as shorts between the shows? I feel like it was quite a while ago... maybe sometime in 2008?
User2: I can't remember the exact date either, but I think it was around the time they kicked off the CW4Kids block in May 2008. Those little clips definitely started showing up regularly after that.
User3: Yeah, I believe you're right. They started airing pretty soon after the transition. It adds some fun energy to the breaks between the regular programming!
User4: I remember watching them during the early Saturday mornings. The way the characters interact with everyday objects is hilarious! Oi's wig problems always crack me up.

User2: Good question. I’ve been wondering the same thing. They’ve introduced a few new shows, but it’s not clear which one they see as taking MGIE’s place.
User3: From what I’ve seen, it seems like “Gogoriki” might be taking over as the new quirky show in that slot. Anyone else think the same?
User4: I was thinking it might be “Viva Pinata.” Both have that lighter, more comedic feel that MGIE had.

Kidding aside, the CW4kids is the only game in town on Saturday mornings from now on. The block looks good, but it pretty much has to be. There’s nothing else available and the cable networks are putting up an excellent fight.
I think TMNT reruns will continue for a while, though they may decrease the episodes run to a half-hour from an hour to make room for something else. Chaotic will definitely be replaced by M’arillian Invasion and I foresee Huntik taking the current BTTS slot. Since 5D’s looks like it’s going to continue uninterrupted for a while that’ll guarantee a premiere on the block even in the summer.
I really wish 4kids would dub over the theme songs instead of replacing them. “Hyper Drive” is good for a dub theme, but I still have a preference for the original theme songs. And I’m still crossing my fingers over you know who . . .

Damn, I’ve never been a fan of those type of shows but I think even I’ll give Kamen Rider a shot. That sign of continuous storytelling is great.
I’m expecting a Huntik page by the end of the week, probably replacing the pointless Skunk Fu page.

Bratz. I despise this show, but strangely I remembered where it all aired. However, since I don’t watch it, I had to track down when the new episodes aired when we started modifying the chart, since the rules there are “if one new episode aired during the show’s time in that slot, then I don’t put (repeats) next to it”. TV.com’s Bratz guide just plain sucks, so I had to do a lot of Internet Archive searching.
Summer 2004. I remembered most of it, but following the premiere of Winx Club, it got kinda confusing. I remembered three different schedules, it was just pinpointing the exact dates, though I knew when the first one began and the last one ended
The “NinjAcademy Awards” thing in March 2007.
Convincing Joltman about the placements of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Viva Piñata in the spring/summer of 2007 (he had different beliefs than me, and kept reverting my edits, then I showed him Cynopsis).
The first week of the 2003-04 season. I just had a hard time believing the announcements until I searched WVAH on Internet Archive, and then I realized it was a one-time thing.
Other than that, it was a breeze.

Yeah, you’re right, sorry if I made it sound like a bit more.
Although, looking over it, I was partially wrong too. I initially said that pre-fast forward TMNT was off the schedule May 5, 2007 (the date everything went into reruns and Sonic X returned) when it really left May 26, 2007. What you thought was that it was on the schedule until the premiere of Di-Gata Defenders, airing 30 minutes before Fast Forward. But I had remembered a “double comedy” promo that mentioned “A full hour of Viva Pinata followed by a full hour of TMNT Fast Forward” and since Sonic X had taken the slot of the earlier VP, that would make no sense.

Yeah, 4Kids already has their name and logo as a part of the CW4Kids, so I don’t think they’ll try to change it.
Looks like we’ll be getting a Christmas episode for GoGoRiki and Vivit Show. Too bad they won’t be airing the one for Dinosaur King.

Actually, I’m kind of glad they aren’t. I remember when I saw the episode, everyone was seriously off model, it wasn’t even funny.

I recall a similar statement from other people regarding Chaotic's success. It was something along the lines that if Chaotic bombed, then that would be the end of the company. Chaotic did have a fairly good start, at least in Canada, but then I think the fad died out. While having Chaotic basically dead, as D Dubbs mentioned, does mean that 4Kids has lost quite a bit of money, that didn't automatically mean the end of 4Kids. I hope that their Toonzai block doesn't fail, but if it does, I wouldn't say that it would be the end of them. After all, 4Kids does get reverse from products and sources outside of animation.
I also still don't like the idea of hoping that 4Kids will die, which is the impression I'm getting from your question. I don't think anyone deserves to lose their job just because of a company making questionable to bad edits on cartoon series.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think that Nick deserves ratings for Dragon Ball Z Kai more than 4Kids? Even though 4Kids will be airing the same series with most likely the same edits, I don't think it will threaten the ratings on Nicktoons. 4Kids will only air one or two episodes a week, while the last time I checked, Nicktoons has been airing the series more often than that and is already somewhere around episode twenty. If they continue that pace, by the time 4Kids will start airing the series, they'll be seriously behind Nicktoons. 4Kids will most likely attract the kids who aren't able to afford Nicktoons and the kids who don't have Internet access in order to watch the series on Nick's website.

Along with purchasing the rights to own TMNT, with that I would imagine that Nick purchased the TMNT likeness which means that they would own everything TMNT related. I would bet one seieng TMNT disappear completely from 4Kids website including all the video and images dedicated to the characters. I could be wrong, but usually when somebody purchases a franchise the "likeness" comes along with all other content and 4Kids would most likely have to pay to keep that kind of stuff on their website, but again, I could be wrong.

Well, Kirby stamps are still in the original stamp book collection, despite 4Kids losing the license to Kirby. Everything else is pretty much gone though (the episodes, other images on the site, Kirby-related games, etc.), so I expect the same thing to happen with Ninja Turtles. Not sure about the avatars though...

This May be a theory or prediction, but i believe because of the Re-branding process of the company and network, and because of the current financial situations. They haven't as of Yet planned any DVD Release this year except the rescheduled Winx Club DVD. But the theory or prediction is that if the re-branding toonzai will work and they make more millions of dollars, they probably will start releasing new DVD's.

Yeah, so I was flipping through both 4Kids and CN this morning and I realized during the hour long TMNT segment that I am really in favor of this whole Toonzai thing happening, Saturday mornings need something fresh and 4Kids is just airing the same ol' junk they have been airing for the past 2 years now. CN clearly has a superior selection of cartoons on Saturday morning but if Toonzai brings with it 2-3 more anime series to air alongside Kai, One Piece, Battle B-Daman, Viewtiful Joe, Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's and Sonic X (ugh) then at least there would be something exciting to look forward to other than the constant repeats.
I personally cannot wait to see what is in store for Saturday mornings this fall, I just hope that people tune in to watch and that this will be a saving grace for 4Kids (probably not), because if it does not get off the ground then it's only a matter of time before 4Kids is a distant memory.

So, any guesses on when 4Kids' fall season starts up? My guess is either August 14th or 21st.
Which leads to my next question: when do you guys think Toonzai promos will start cropping up? The fall season should be coming fairly soon, and I'd imagine they'd want to start promoting it about now. Heck, even some teasers would be pretty cool.

Notice the red exclimation mark in the URL bar when you click on the site? I'm guessing that the block may be broadcasting sooner than we have originally thought, I am not so sure there will be a CW4Kids fall season kick-off this year, instead it appears as if it may be a Toonzai fall season kick-off complete with tons of anime goodness.
I'm feeling slightly excited to see what the block will look like, hopefully it's completely repackaged and looks a lot different than it does now, though I admit that I will miss some of the current bumpers.

I wouldn't bet on it, 4Kids plans to make Toonzai into a toyetic anime block with licenses that they can market in a retail setting, unfortunately, 4Kids does not see Huntik falling into that catagory for them. I honestly think that if CN or Nick got ahold of Huntik that it could succeed if given the right timeslot, the characters and creatures from the show would make a great line of retail products, but 4Kids is taking the Japanese route it would seem.

Just got some more exciting news! Not only is Spider Riders continuing, but Huntik, Gogoriki, and The Vivit Show are sticking around on Toonzai as well. It looks like they’re maintaining a nice mix of shows for the lineup!

I saw a picture on Michael's Winx Club site from a 4Kids booth with a "Toonzai" banner and it had pictures of Sonic X, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magical DoReMi, Cubix, and One Piece. This may hint that DoReMi will return in the fall, and it and Cubix will fulfill the E/I requirements.
It also mentioned the possibility of 4Kids losing the rights to Winx Club...

I checked earlier today, and I can confirm that 4kids.tv/shows/skunk-fu is still there for now. But who knows for how much longer, given that the show is out of the lineup.

That makes sense. With Toonzai coming in the fall, 4Kids will likely revamp their site to promote the new and returning shows. It's only a matter of time before Skunk Fu! gets moved out of the spotlight.
