Ezeket a billentyűket elsősorban azok kedvelik, akik a számítógépet játszásra használják. Ezért sokszor a jobb oldali numerikus billentyűk és/vagy az F1-F12 billentyűk hiányoznak a billentyűzetről. Ezek a 60%-os vagy 80%-os billentyűzetek.
A mechanikus billentyűzetnél minden billentyű alatt egy-egy mechanikus kapcsoló található.

A játék megkönnyítésére a különböző billentyűket más színekkel jelölik, kék, piros, fehér, zöld, fekete, szürke,  stb. színűek. Például a kék taktilis és hangos, a piros lineáris és halk, a szürke taktilis és halk. 
A billentyűket egyenként ki lehet cserélni egy másik fajta billentyűre.
Vannak olyan mechanikus billentyűzetek is amelyek a sötétben foszforeszkálnak vagy világítanak.
A legújabb billentyűknél már optikai megoldásokat alkalmaznak a reakcióidő felgyorsítására.

THE MECHANICAL KEYBOARD.

In your previous message, you asked me to provide some information on mechanical keyboards. As these keyboards are unfamiliar to me as well, I had to search for information online. The ancestors of mechanical keyboards were traditional, mechanical typewriters, which were followed by more modern electric typewriters. With the emergence of computers, the classic membrane keyboards came into existence; they are cheap but not very durable or colorful. Mechanical keyboards differ from membrane keyboards primarily in the number, color, and design of their keys. They are preferred by people who use computers for gaming, which is why they often lack the numeric keypad on the right or the F1-F12 keys. These are called 60% or 80% keyboards. 

In a mechanical keyboard, each key has its own mechanical switch underneath. These switches can be of different types. Some make loud noise, some are quiet, and some have tactile feedback. Some are easier to press (linear switches), while others require more force (tactile switches). The different keys are also colored differently to aid in gaming, usually blue, red, white, green, black, gray, etc. For example, blue switches are tactile and loud, red switches are linear and quiet, and gray switches are tactile and quiet.

Each key can be individually replaced with a different type of switch. Some mechanical keyboards can glow in the dark or be backlit. The latest keyboards use optical solutions to speed up the reaction time.
