User: Hey guys, have you heard that Comedy Central UK is allegedly ending their current #thuglife idents? You know, the ones with guys getting mugged or beaten up by thugs as Hot in Herre or Gangsta's Paradise plays, I'm curious to know if this is true or just a rumor. Forum Member 1: I haven't heard anything about that, but it wouldn't be a surprise. Those idents have been around for a while and they're not exactly family-friendly. User: Yes, you're right. They've been around for a while now. The thing is, I always thought those idents fit better with shows like South Park or Family Guy than with Friends or Big Bang. And now, I saw an ad saying "Comedy Central is changing from the 20th of November", and the current logo falls into a hole. It reminded me of the 2005 idents, where cartoon rabbits would pop out of holes. Do you think this could be a sign of what's to come? Also the promo endboards at that time had a cartoonish cat with a TV for a face, which would show the logo of the show being promoted Forum Member 2: It's definitely possible. Comedy Central has been known to shake things up with their branding and marketing. But without an official announcement, we can't be sure. User: Yeah, I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. But I hope they come up with something new and fresh. Those #thuglife idents have gotten a bit old, don't you think? Forum Member 1: Absolutely. While they were entertaining at first, they've definitely lost their charm. I'm excited to see what Comedy Central has in store for us. User: Me too! I'm curious to know what kind of shows they'll be pairing with the new idents. But for now, let's just wait and see. Forum Member 2: Definitely! In the meantime, let's enjoy the remaining episodes of Friends and Big Bang with the current idents. Who knows, maybe they'll come back as a nostalgic throwback. User: Haha, that's a good point. Let's enjoy them while we still can! I'm curious to know what your thoughts are on the new logo that falls into a hole. Do you think it's a sign of something bigger to come? Forum Member 1: It's definitely an interesting development. The holes definitely look like a nod to the old look, also HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU COMEDY CENTRAL, STOP SHOWING FRIENDS EVERY 4 MINUTES. THIS IS GETTING BEYOND A JOKe. Write a forum conversation where a user says you might want to look at the promo endcap for the new "Friends MegaThon" starting on the 20th, You might be surprised 😊, It definitely isn't the current Grafitti background, It is a element from the past that more or less confirms thuglife is ending User: Hey guys, have you seen the promo endcap for the new "Friends MegaThon" starting on the 20th? You might be surprised 😊 It's definitely not the current graffiti background. It actually looks like an element from the past, which more or less confirms that the #thuglife idents are ending! Forum Member 1: Oh really? That's interesting! What does the new promo look like? User: It features a colorful retro design that feels like a blast from the past. There are cartoon elements that remind me of the earlier years of Comedy Central. It’s a stark contrast to what they’ve been showing recently. Forum Member 2: That’s a pretty big hint! If they’re going retro like that, it does suggest they’re moving away from the current style. Maybe they really are revamping the whole branding! User: Exactly! It feels like they’re hinting at a nostalgia-driven approach. It could be a fresh new start while tapping into that familiarity we have with the older designs. Forum Member 1: Hmm, this is making me more curious about what else they have planned. I wonder if they’ll bring back some of those classic idents or if it’ll be entirely new? User: It'll be interesting to see! If the promo is already looking different, it might signify a full overhaul of their branding strategy. I’m ready for some new and exciting stuff! Forum Member 2: Same here! The #thuglife idents had their time, but I'm definitely open to seeing what Comedy Central has in store next. Hopefully, it’ll fit more in line with the shows they air! User: Agreed! I think Comedy Central could benefit from embracing a more humorous and light-hearted vibe with their idents. It'll be fun to see what they come up with! Forum Member 1: For sure! Can’t wait to keep an eye out for further announcements. Let’s hope the “Friends MegaThon” is just the beginning of some cool changes! Write a follow up saying guess what's showing the Frjends logo User: Guess what’s showing the Friends logo in those new promos?! It’s the cartoon cat with the TV for a face! It’s such a nostalgic callback to those older graphics they used back in the day. It really feels like they’re fully embracing a retro theme with this MegaThon! Forum Member 2: No way! That’s awesome! The cat was such a fun part of their branding back then. It definitely supports the idea that they’re moving away from the current style. User: Exactly! It feels like they’re trying to bridge the gap between old-school and new-school Comedy Central. It has me wondering if this could lead to some unexpected revisits of classic shows or old idents! Forum Member 1: That would be amazing! If they're pulling elements like that cat back in, they might even think about revamping some of the classic skits and routines from their past. It’s about time we get a mix of nostalgia and fresh content! User: For sure! It just shows they’re listening to the audience who loves that sense of connection to the past. I’m really looking forward to seeing what else they do leading up to the MegaThon! Forum Member 2: Same here! Let’s keep an eye on those promos—it looks like we might be in for quite the ride! Write a conversation asking if aby other new promos for new shows still use the grafitti, or do they all use the TV cat now, If so, the thugs are outta here on 20th User: Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has seen any other new promos for upcoming shows? Do they still use the graffiti style, or have they switched everything over to the TV cat design now? Forum Member 1: Great question! I’d love to know that too. If they’re moving away from the graffiti, it really looks like they’re saying goodbye to the #thuglife idents altogether. Forum Member 2: I think most of the new promos I’ve seen recently have been using the TV cat! It seems like a pretty solid indicator that they’re changing things up. User: That’s exciting! If they’ve fully transitioned to the TV cat design, then I think we can officially say the thugs are outta here come the 20th! Forum Member 1: Totally! It seems like Comedy Central is taking a strong stand with this rebranding. The old persona of the channel is definitely fading away. User: Exactly! It feels like they’re going for a more playful and fun vibe, especially if they’re focusing on nostalgia. I’m all for it! Forum Member 2: Same here! If they’re fully embracing this new direction, I can’t wait to see what else they have planned for us. Let’s keep our eyes peeled for any more promos! User: For sure! Do you think Comedy Central Extra is getting rid of its jail-themed #jaillife idents as well? They seem like a direct offshoot of the #thuglife ones, and with all the changes happening, it makes me wonder. Forum Member 1: That’s an interesting point! If they’re revamping their branding, it would only make sense for CC Extra to follow suit. The jail theme really fits into that same edgy vibe as the #thuglife idents. Forum Member 2: Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing. If Comedy Central is moving away from that style for their main channel, it’s likely that CC Extra will do the same. Those idents have been around for a while. User: Exactly! It’s all interconnected in a way. I wonder if they’ll introduce something completely new or just update the look while keeping the general concept. Forum Member 1: I’d love to see them go in a different direction altogether. It could be a great opportunity to create something fun and fresh that separates CC Extra from the main channel. Forum Member 2: For sure! It sounds like they’re seriously moving away from those old themes. It must feel like a relief for the network to break free from the #jaillife vibe. Forum Member 2: Wow, that's a solid indicator that they're committed to this new direction! I'm all for seeing some fresh creativity in their promos. What do you think the new endcap looks like? Based in a Central London studio a lot of our inspiration comes from everything around us - form the people to the streets to the architecture. We're mostly known for our humour - including Dog Judo (about fighting dogs), 'Bob' who Darren Walsh created with us and the Bafta nominated Sensibles (Alien news reporters). We would like to think our strengths are great art which we animate beautifully to a strong narrative. Then, of course, there's the funny silly stuff! The Sensibles (2006-2007) – a series of short, humorous films produced by Jetix and 12foot6 , where they were broadcast from 2007 to 2009. The films tell the story of the Sensibles, who work for the GNN Galactic News Network. They are a team observing the lives of the inhabitants of Earth. They observe everyday objects that are obvious to Earthlings. Characters edit Oi – the voice and presenter of space news. His red wig has always caused him problems, especially before going on air. Bzzz – the chief of reporters. Equipped with an antenna and microphones. Locates the reporters' target. Zzoom – cameraman. Observes and photographs given objects.
