Contents: Chapter 1: A Viewscreen To Another Dimention
Hello everyone! As promised on Twitter, I have created the Characters Reacting Fic of my old Helluva Boss fic Turn Back Time which was made back when Season 1 was starting. This was a thank you reward to all my followers for getting us to 2,500 followers on Twitter and I am here to happily post this fic. Now I've only just done the beginning section of Chapter 1 of Turn Back Time as a prologue and the rest of the chapter 1 of Turn Back Time as the first official chapter of this reading.I've had to look up how to do the HTML coding to make sure that the story of Turn Back Time is separated from the reactions which wasn't easy mind you so I hope I did it well.
The home of the Great Demon Prince, Stolas Goetia, was known to have occasional quirky moments here and there. Being the home of a powerful demon mage, it wasn't a surprise that you would hear the occasional bursts of a new spell being practiced multiple times until the caster got it right or the sounds of an unholy abomination from another dimension being summoned for a ritual. Honestly, it was a typical Tuesday for anyone who lived or worked in the estate, and they all got used to it. It was at least better than Prince Stolas's ex-wife's usual tantrums about whatever random and small thing that p@ss@d her off every five seconds. That often involved cleaning and seeking medical help for the abuse she inflicted on whoever dared to get in the way of her wrath. Thankfully, she had been kicked out some time ago by the Prince after finally divorcing her after all these years. It was a relief to many as those who had helped raise their Prince were glad to see the abuser finally out of their home for good.
It certainly made Prince Stolas happier, at the very least, and that was enough for them. He was one of the rare few demons who treated Imps decently, even if he was occasionally insulting with his classism, but this was due to ignorance instead of outright malice. Of course, his kindness to Imps wasn't a surprise considering the one demon who had captured his heart was one of their own. Although their relationship was quite frankly "complicated" in the best of terms.
That was what Blitzo, the said Imp in question, thought at the very least whenever someone asked what his connection to Stolas was. The assassin acknowledged that the two of them had...
something,
but it was honestly anybody's guess what that was. Stolas sometimes claimed to have feelings for him, and there were some days when Blitzo believed it, like the day he saved him and his team against those government @ssh@l@s. On other days he thought he was just a f@ck toy for the s@xually depraved loner who didn't really care about anyone else's feelings unless it affected the prince like what happened at Ozzie's. Of course, Blitzo knew he hadn't much high ground to stand on (sneaking in to steal a book and having sex with a married man wasn't exactly moral, but this was
Hell
for Anti-Christ's sake), but he would never admit it.
Even after that whole debacle of finding Stolas's daughter in the human world, where he admitted he had some fun with Stolas, there was still uncertainty about
what
they were.
Right now, I'm just bored out of my mind.
He yawned as he watched Stolas attempting to teach his daughter more of the magic from his fancy book. Octavia had been trying to open a portal into the right intended destination for about a half-hour. So far, all she managed to do was create one to random places like a desert with pyramids, the sea, and even outer space. He was only here because Loona decided to come and help Octavia with moral support.
To Blitzo and Stoals's joy, the Hellhound and Heir Princess had become friends after their little misadventure in LA. He longed for his darling little girl to finally have some real friends she could talk to and meet up with instead of just online friends she met randomly on various sites or random Hellhounds at those parties. And best of all, this wasn't a boy who would try to get in his little baby puppy's pants.
Of course, Blitzo wanted to ensure his darling little girl was okay and nothing was happening to her on their playdate (something Loona moaned about and told him to grow up when he said that), so he decided to join her. That, and for the free food Stolas offered.
"I still don't know why we had to come here, sir," Moxxie grumbled as he rested his head on his arm while leaning on the clear glass table they were having lunch on. "We could be working instead of just sitting here doing nothing."
"Aw, come on, Moxxie. At least we're getting a good meal out of this," Millie said with positivity as she wolfed down another sandwich on the table and some other goodies. Thankfully it wasn't all high-end rich people cr@p, and there was some decent food like sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, and fries. "Besides, we could use a break after that whole dust-up with your father trying to get you married off."
"Yeah, I guess," Moxxie muttered as he poured another glass of lemonade. "Just kinda wish we were doing something."
"You can just stay quiet?" Loona suggested with a snort. "Would be something instead of wasting breath just breathing."
"Oh, bite me," Moxxie grumbled. "At least you could assist your friend instead of sitting around doing nothing."
"I'm giving moral support," Loona responded. "That's something."
"Leave Loona alone, Mox," Blitzo said, smiling warmly at her daughter. "Let her just enjoy spending time with her new bestie friendie."
"Shut up, Blitz," Loona growled, turning away to hide her blush while folding her arms.
Meanwhile, not far from them, Octavia glared at her hands so hard it was like she was trying to mimic her father's ability to turn people into stone with his gaze. She cursed that she hadn't been able to master her father's abilities with magic despite her age. Although Octavia hated to admit it, she had always been terrible with magic despite her love of learning it at a young age. She didn't have the natural talent that her father had, and she was worried about failing to follow in his footsteps as his heir when his position was passed on to her. Sure, Octavia wasn't looking forward to the day she became head of the household when her father passed the crown to her (hopefully still kicking), but that didn't mean she didn't want to be a disappointment to him.
"Okay, Octavia, let's try it again," Stolas said as he smiled warmly at her. The way she pouted made her look so cute in his eyes that he couldn't help but giggle again. "Think about the location you want to go to in your head. Any location will do. Even your room."
Octavia nodded and closed her eyes before slowly posting her hands together. A minute later, purplish blue energy started emitting from them, and runic symbols formed from the aether around her fingers.
"Focus on the inner cosmic balance between you and the various lines of magic that are spread through all the dimensional planes of existence," Stolas lectured as he waved his hand dramatically. "Take a deep breath...and then release."
Octavia did so, and she was about to unleash her power when, out of bad luck and timing, Blitzo's cell phone went off with the alert of a text to the sound of a loud heavy metal song. The sudden burst of guitar and drums made Octavia yelp, and she soon lost control of the magical force in her arms, causing it to form into a large shadowy ball of mystical warp energy and shootout like a baseball. Stolas gasped and quickly ducked. "Hit the deck!"
Everyone proceeded to do so as the energy ball bounced around the backyard, hitting the walls, statues, a few plants, the ground, and even a bird in the sky that got the feathers pounded out of them. Getting up, Stolas summoned his own cosmic energy and sent out a blast upon the rogue magic when it was about Octavia's eyes level, which caused it to merge and give off a small burst of energy. It soon took the form of a large cloud-like structure that was, of all things, two-dimensional and seemed to be showing static as if one was looking at a TV whose cable dish had been knocked out of place.
"Are we alive? Are all my parts in place?" Blitzo asked as he checked his horns, tail, and b@lls. "Yup, all good!"
"S-Sorry," Octavia muttered, rubbing her arm.
"It's okay, Via," Stolas replied with a soft smile. "Accidents happen."
Millie, up from the ground, walked over to the floating two-dimensional cloud and stared at it with wonder. "Oooh, what's this?"
"Hmm? Oh!" Stolas walked over to the curious creation and smirked. "Oh, it's just a small break in the time-space continuum. It sometimes happens when you work with spells like these. Octavia's dimensional gate spell and my stopping spell must have caused it to create what appears to be an attempt to create a visual window into another dimension."
"It won't cause Cthulhu or something to come out and suck our brains out, right?" Blitzo wondered with hesitation as he tried inching away from it.
"Oh, no. Nothing of the sort, Blitzy," Stolas assured him with a giggle while Millie was poking it before Moxxie quickly stopped her, much to her pout. "While the object is still trying to find a dimension of existence to latch on to, it's not strong enough for us or anything else to go through it, thanks to the spell I used to stop it. We cannot go into it, nor can anyone else in whatever dimension it is chosen. If they can see it at all, that is. Most of the time, these things are invisible, so I doubt anyone will be seeing us."
"So, what? It's like a giant TV to some alternate dimension like the Twilight Zone?" Loona asked, eyebrow raised.
"You watched that show?" Moxxie asked in surprise since it didn't seem like something the Hellhound would be interested in.
"The Matron at the orphanage I was at loved the show. Played it all the time for us," Loona whispered with a shrug before shutting her mouth. She hated talking about her time at that nightmare of a place. Despite her issues with Blitzo, she'd gladly live with him over that prison any day of the week.
"Well, if it is a viewport to another dimension, it's not showing much except for lousy cable," Blitzo said, knocking on it as if it were glass.
"Well, finding a single dimension in a sea of various realities, alternate timelines, and parallel worlds is not easy. The odds of finding something randomly are high," Stolas answered with a shrug as he opened his palm. "I'll just get rid of it and-"
"Wait!" Millie said as she pointed at it with wide eyes. "Something is happening!"
Everyone paused and turned to look at the screen, which was becoming more transparent. Curious, everyone got closer to watch and wondered what they were about to see...
***
"Daddy! Daddy!"
Blitzo groaned as he slowly lifted his head from his pillow upon hearing Loona's cries for him. He had just gotten back from a late-night hit and was tired as f@ck due to the time it to took to finally get the proper shot with his sniper rifle. Seriously, how the f@ck was patience a virtue again?
***
Everyone's jaw dropped upon seeing Blitzo in a bed, half naked, as he woke up to someone calling him "Daddy," and not in a sexy way but in a childlike way.
"Wait, that's me!" Blitzo said with wide eyes before pausing. "Wait, who's calling me Daddy? D-Do I have a child?"
"Well, it's not me," Loona said with a snort. "You adopted me when I was...was..."
Loona's jaw dropped upon seeing what happened next; she wasn't the only one either, as someone very familiar, even if they were much younger, appeared.
***
Rubbing his eyes, Blitzo's door was nearly smashed open as a seven-year-old Hellhound in her blue PJs with dog bones on it rushed inside. With tears in her eyes, Loona dived into her adopted father's chest and bawled. Despite grumbling, Blitzo took a deep breath and rubbed his daughter's back.
"Hey, Loony? Did you have a bad dream at..." He looked at the lock and grumbled. "Three in the morning?"
"I-I-I did!" Loona whimpered as she hugged him tighter. "There were these scary monsters...and they took me away from you...I screamed and cried...but I couldn't get back to you...
please don't leave me!"
***
"...THE F@CK?!"
Loona shouted in disbelief while blushing up a storm.
Moxxie couldn't help it but laugh as he pointed at the younger Loona being shown. "Oh, my Satan! It's you! As a puppy! This is hilarious! HAHA-OOF!"
Loona lowered her fist and growled, wishing she could punch this screen to pieces. She was only glad that Vortex and the others from his Hellhound parties weren't here to see this, or else she would die of embarrassment.
Millie snickered and looked at Loona with a grin. "You look cute there, Loona. And callin' Blitz here
"Daddy?"
Awww, you got a soft heart, after all."
"Oh, Loony! I knew you always loved me and saw me as your real father!" Blitzo shouted with tears dripping down his happy expression. Spreading his arms out, he cried, "Come give your Daddy a hug! I'll never leave you, my precious little girl!"
"Ugh! Blitz! Stop!" Loona shouted as she used both paws to keep Blitzo from hugging her. Pushing him away, she growled and pointed to the mini-me of herself. "Use your brain, dumbass! That's obviously a different version of me from another dimension we're seeing! You didn't adopt me until I was seventeen!"
"Looks like he adopted you much younger," Octavia said, smirking. "You got to be around seven or so in this timeline."
***
"Oh, sweetie," Blitzo whispered as he raised her head to look at her own. Smiling, he replied, "Daddy's never going to leave you. No matter what happens, I'll always be there when you need me."
"P-Promise?" Loona asked, wiping her face.
"Pinkie promise," Blitzo said as he raised his pinky to Loona's face. She smiled softly and slowly wrapped her finger around Blitzo's.
***
"Aww, you're such a good father here, Blitzy," Stolas said gleefully.
"What? I'm a great father in any dimension!" Blitzo claimed as he puffed his chest out. "Right, Loona?"
"You took me to a vet when I got sick the first time," Loona muttered, rolling her eyes.
"I'm just surprised to see Blitz acting so nice," Moxxie replied, rubbing his cheek. "Guess that means this is an alternate dimension of him."
"F@ck you, Mox."
***
"Now, time for you to go to bed. You have school, and I have to get some sleep before I go crazy and accidentally kill the neighbor's pet again."
***
"Like I need that as an excuse to kill my neighbor's pet," Blitzo snorted. "F@ck@ng little monster keeps sh@tt@ng on my welcome mat."
***
"Can...can I sleep with you tonight?" Loona whispered, rubbing her paws.
Blitzo couldn't help but smirk. "Oh? And I thought someone was a big strong puppy who wanted to prove she was a big girl by sleeping alone." He tapped her nose, making her growl before knocking it away.
"I am a big girl! I just... don't want to go back to my bed... it's too far," Loona replied, blushing.
***
"Someone's afraid of the dark at her age," Millie teased.
"Kill me," Loona muttered to herself, wishing she could turn invisible.
***
Shaking his head in amusement, Blitzo ended his teasing and let Loona lay beside him as she cuddled close to her chest. A few minutes later, she was out like a light. Blitzo sighed as he stroked her fur, smiling as he saw her peaceful expression as she slept beside him.
Hugging her closer, Blitzo closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep beside his snoozing daughter.
***
This made Loona pause.
Am I...that happy with him?
Maybe it was because Loona was obviously adopted by Blitzo at a much younger age, but she was closer to her adopted fath-
guardian
in this universe.
F@ck, she calls him "Dad"! I've never said that to Blitz.
Not that there weren't times when the word almost
slipped
from her mouth, but she always caught herself before she did.
Suddenly the visual they were seeing was going static again, and for a second, it seemed like what they were seeing was over. Then it suddenly changed into what appeared to be the familiar office of the I.M.P company.
Stolas coughed into his hand as everyone looked at him. "I could leave it up so we can see how different this world is. Just for curiosity's sake?"
"I'm in!" Blitzo said with a squee. He really wanted to see what kind of relationship he and this other Loona had. Plus, seeing his little girl so young and cute was as sugary as diabetes.
"Same!" Millie claimed.
"Do you want to watch it?" Moxxie asked the Hellhound.
"No!" She answered sharply.
"Then my answer is yes," Moxxie said with a grin which only p@ss@d Loona off more.
"...I am kinda curious," Octavia whispered, slowly raising her hand while looking at Loona with an apologetic smile.
"Son of a..." Loona sighed and rolled her eyes. "Fine. But I swear I will murder you all when this is over."
Levitating the chair and food-filled table closer so they could enjoy their meal with the show, everyone took their seats as the clouded astral gateway cleared up...'
