Master of Science in Environmental Science has four options : Agroforestry, Climate Change, Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Health science. Graduates with a Master’s of Science in Environmental Science are capable of conceiving effective methods and strategies for monitoring degradation activities in the environment using appropriate technological approaches. They are equally able to carry out integrated environmental impact assessment projects as well as conduct educational workshops and seminars on the state of the environment, where necessary. Finally, the diploma is the key to access a PhD programme.[wpdevart_like_box profile_id= »https://www.facebook.com/Ibay.sup2006/ » connections= »show » width= »300″ height= »100″ header= »small » cover_photo= »show » locale= »en_US »]

Over time, the threats and impacts to tropical forests have become more complex and dynamic. Efforts to protect, manage and understand the functioning of the tropical ecosystems have traditionally been the realm of biologists, ecologists, foresters, students and resource managers. However, it has become increasingly evident that the challenges of concervation can only be effectively resolved if all actors whose decisions and actions shape tropical landscapes are also engaged. Most importantly relevant stakeholders need to be adequately equipped with the knowledge and skills. The curriculum of HIES is built on teaching provided by Universities in Cameroon and partner universities such as

1. Train and develop skilful and competent professionals for Agroforestry, Climate change, Environmental Health Science and Environmental Impact Assessment 2. Ensure that graduates are not marginalized in the knowledge and expertise required for the management of modern global environmental companies and organizations. 3. Provide a broad-based adult and continuing education for the knowledge society in Cameroon and Africa. 4. Pursue academic and professional excellence by the recruitment, training and retention of high calibre and dedicated faculty and management personnel. 5. Regularly assess and review the institution’s courses, programmes, and activities to respond to changes in the social and developmental environment

To seat for the admission entrance exam to HIES, applicants must meet the following requirements : • Pass the aptitude examination organized by HIES • Be holder of GCE A Level or equivalent qualification • Be holder of Baccalaureate A, C and D depending of the subjects. • Attach a letter of recommendation from a parent or an organization taking care of the tuition. • Attach progress report of the last three years of high school • Attach two recent photographs (4×4 cm) • Participate in a group and individual interview

The constant degradation of our ecosystem, the air and water pollution, the depletion of ozone in the atmosphere, the build-up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the progressive loss of soil fertility in fragile tropical soils, are the pressing problems that endanger our environment and our life. Therefore it is urgent to train scientists that could examine and understand the complex environmental issues, predict environmental change, and participate in responsible management of the environment. It is this objective in mind that IBAYSUP decided to open the Higher Institute of Environmental Sciences (HIES) which offers Bachelor Sciences degree and Masters of
